Missionary Letter April 2008

Dear friends and brethren elected in the Lord Jesus Christ,

We had a lot of activity during the month of April. We continue with our relocation to Victoria, and at the same time, visited several areas in that City. I was able to get about 500 pcs. of  John and Romans as well as 60 Bibles from a Pastor who distributes literature in the border. These little books will be prepared with our information so that we can distribute this in the areas that we will be visiting door by door. The Bibles will be given to those who visit the Mission work, and that do not have one for their personal usage. If any of the readers of this letter know how I can get sound literature or inexpensive Bibles in Spanish, please let me know. The Spanish Bible that we use in Mexico is called Reina-Valera 1960”.

As it was reported in the March letter, there are two places we will be doing missionary work in Victoria. One is called, Colonia (subdivision) Alvaro Obregon, and the other Colonia Chapultepec.

Colonia Alvaro Obregon.

We had started doing some work on the lot we got in that area, and will prepare a small room for the preaching activity. The estimated cost for this room is $875 dollars (labor included). In case we need to move to a different area we will be able to take the wood and any material used to build the small room. If any Church feels led by the Lord to make a contribution for this, please contact Bryan Station Baptist Church.

Please pray that we can complete this small room and that we can share the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ with the people in this area.

Colonia Chapultepec.

We have continued talking to some people here trying to get a rental place for the preaching but no success yet. There is one family where we can potentially start services. They say they do not have any good place available for the services, but they offered their backyard for this. Pray for this area as well, and pray that the Lord will give us a place for preaching His Word.

Following, I would like to provide an update, and ask for your continual prayers in the needs we have been sharing with you:

Housing

We have moved about 90% of our belongings/furniture to our house in Victoria, and we are planning to move the rest in a few days.

Kids School

The Kids continue attending school regularly. Ivan, our sixth grader son, has basically made up all of his pending work and is back to normal activity. Edgar, who is in high school (10th grade), continues struggling with some of his classes and has not leveled up his performance. The kids will be finalizing the school term by the end of May. Immediately after they finish, they will come to Victoria.

May the Lord help us to love and serve Him.

Your servant in Christ,

Enrique Cantu
