Missionary Report June 3008

Dear saints in the Lord Christ Jesus,

The month of June passed by so quickly, it was one of the busiest months we have had. On the 4th, we loaded all of our belongings in the 2 vehicles and drove toward Ciudad Victoria. We experienced some problems with our personal vehicle, the transmission was not working properly (did not shift to the over drive mode). By God’s grace we made it safely to our house in Victoria. As soon as I parked our van and unloaded it, the transmission did not work any more. The van could not move back or forth. We are very thankful with the Lord that He allowed us to get to Victoria before the transmission stop working. Also, we are very thankful for the Lord’s provision through Bryan Station Baptist Church. If we would not have the vehicle that was provided for the ministry, we would be very limited on what we can do down here. We will repair the transmission since we need a family van for our daily activities.

We have started with preaching activities down here in Victoria, following I want to summarize it :

Colonia (Subdivision) Alvaro Obregon.

Even though we still have some pending work on the small house that was built in this area, we have started the preaching services here. On June the 12th, my family and I visited this subdivision house by house hand delivering a flyer with our address and the service hours. In addition, a tract in Spanish was given along with a small book containing the Gospel of John and Romans. We preached them repentance of sins and salvation in our Lord Jesus Christ as the Lord opened doors and as we were led by the Spirit. When the Berea Baptist Church of Ciudad Victoria (Pastor Marco Cantu) heard we were getting started and we were visiting the area, they joined us in the visitation. We had several families helping us. We are thankful with the Lord that He moves hearts to do His work. We did the same activity for several days, from Thursday through Sunday and kept this schedule for two weeks. I preached every day at 7:00 PM, and Sunday morning two messages. The very first day (June the 12th), I preached a message from John 1:14-17 teaching that our Lord Jesus is the source of All grace. “Grace upon Grace Baptist Mission” was started in that day, and will prevail according to the Lord’s will and Amazing Grace.

Since that day we are having services every Thursday evening and Sunday morning and evening. The ministry vehicle has been of a tremendous blessing and help since this place is located up in the mountain and it is more difficult to reach the area in a small car. Some families from Berea Baptist Church are taking turns to support me and my family in the work, we are very thankful with the Lord for their love in the Lord (Please see attached pictures). As we visited the area and preached the Word, we did have at least 6 visitors to the services. In our visitation we found many people who profess Catholicism but are ignorant of God and His salvation. Also, we found some other people that have never had a Bible and have never read it. I Thank God for the privilege of being an instrument of His Grace and a carrier of His Word!

 Colonia (subdivision) Chapultepec.

We have not visited this area yet. Since we are getting started, I preferred to focus in one area at the time since the beginning is a difficult stage. Keep praying for us that we may find the right rental house to start the services here, according to the Lord’s will.

Thank you for your love and financial support. Please keep us in your prayers. May the Lord of All grace be with each of us as we strive to serve Him.

 Your friend in Christ,

 Enrique Cantu
