Prayer Letter January 2010

Greetings to all the Lord’s Churches and People from Lexington, Kentucky.

We arrived back here into the States on January 19th and after 2 weeks we are finally getting our days and nights straightened out.

Last Sunday Jan 31st was my first official Sunday to serve as Pastor of the Bryan Station Baptist Church.  We are very excited about our new field of service here in Lexington.  The members of the Church here have already shown so much loving kindness to my family and I that our hearts have been deeply touched.

OUR DEPARTURE FROM THE PHILIPPINES

Our final service there in Marikina was no doubt the most tearful service I have ever attended.   Our hearts have truly been knit together in love with those dear saints.  Behold how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity.”

And as we all know from personal experience how sad it is when our dwelling together with those whom we love so much is temporarily interrupted.  The blessed assurance that we as Christians have is that we know that in spite of the pain of separation here on earth the time will come in eternity that there will be no more good byes.

I can say in good conscience that the works where we have ministered in the Philippines have been left in a spiritually good condition.  Some of the saints in Romblon still struggle financially.  But Lord willing they will soon have their own building and this will help alleviate most of their need for monthly support.  They were supposed to have already closed the deal on the purchase of their building but some glitches have come up which have delayed the closing.  If any of you would be able or willing to help in extending support to them for just a few more months it would be a great help to them.

THE BEGINNING OF A NEW CHAPTER

As of February 1st Bryan Station will of course be shouldering the financial responsibility for my family and I.  So please discontinue our personal support.  If any other support comes in, it will be applied toward the work there in Romblon for the next few months.  We will continue to give a full account of any money that comes in.

So many of you have been such a great blessing to us over the past 15 years.  It is sad for me to sign OFF for the last time as your missionary.  But possibly now that we are here in the States, communication will be easier. Please stay in touch. New Phone Numbers Home: 859-514-0581 Cell: 859-619-1371

Still about our Father’s business,
