Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

I want to send greetings in the name which is above all names, our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.  I thank my God for you all and your kindness, prayerfulness, and support for this continuing work in Honduras.  This morning in my devotions, I was blessed by our Lord through the writings of Bro. Spurgeon and the text he used.  Psalm 27:14  “Wait on the Lord; be of good courage, and he will strengthen thine heart; wait, I say, on the Lord.”  This is one of the hardest things for human beings to do.  Wait.  We have been programmed to “go for it, move, act, get going, don’t wait... ,” but God tells us to wait!

Well, that is what we are doing, packing and waiting!  The Lord knows just the time He wants us to contract with a container company, He knows when someone will buy the vehicles as well as the house, and who it will be.  I must not become impatient, but wait in prayer and call upon God.  He knows my willingness to complete His will, whatever and whenever He so demands or leads.  I must remember that my dependence is in Him.  Continue to remember us in your prayers.

During this past month, I have preached in the mission in Jesus de Otoro, as well as the Sovereign God B.C. in San Pedro Sula.  After one of the services a young teen age girl came to me with another sister in Christ, and told me that she wanted to be baptized and be a member of the Lord’s Church.  When I asked her about her salvation, she said she was trusting in the Lord as her personal Savior and that it had been a while back, but because of her shyness she feared to make her salvation public.  She is a maid for a family in the assembly and is from a small village.  We thank the Lord for this blessing.

I have been asked to preach to two areas this week for their area wide fellowship meetings.  First, on Tuesday, July 29th, in the

Baptist Mission in Bambú, which is a mission work of the Emanuel B.C. in Rio Esteban; and then on Friday, August 1st,  in the Baptist Church of El Bosque in Tegucigalpa.

We continue to give out gospel tracts and testify to the people here in San Pedro Sula.  I always give out tracts to the police at their check points and try to tell them of their need to consider the message of the Lord Jesus Christ and the need to repent of their sins.  The tract which draws their attention is the one called, “Are You Prepared to Die?”  I tell them that in their line of work they need to really consider this question.  I always get a positive reaction from them.  They say that they will read and consider the message.  The other day we were stopped two times within ten minutes and there are five policemen at each check point.  They continually are moving the check points to stop the movements of illegal drugs and guns.

The fear factor living here is sometimes higher than other times.  We hear of horrible things which happen all around us, but God has protected us from their evil.  Just the fact of opening your home, for people to see it, is a great risk.  We cannot have a garage sale like you all do in the USA, or we would have to hire at least two armed guards and then fear that they would be crooked or be robbed of their arms!   I heard of a case the other day that the head of a security company was being arrested, because he had stolen a new car from the very same people who had hired his company.  I say it often, "The Lord has been so good to us!!"

By the way, we have received one quote to rent a container, and it is just under five thousand dollars from our house here to Decatur, Al.  If any church is led of the Lord to help out in this need, please mark it, “moving fund”.  God blessed in our coming to Honduras with someone loaning us a container in South Carolina, and He could do it again if it be His will.  Thanks so much for your continued prayers, letters, cards, and special offerings.

Your brother in Christ,

Ted Tweet
