Dear Brethren in Christ,

“And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.” (Romans 8:28)

The Lord has been good to the churches in Honduras.  He has blessed in Río Esteban with the salvation of two this month.  The angels rejoiced and so do we!  I have preached this month in the work in Jesús de Otoro as well as the Sovereign God Baptist Church.  The church is rejoicing for answered prayer.  The family that moved to La Ceiba about a year ago moved back to San Pedro Sula on Saturday, May 17th.  It was a blessing for us to help them unload the moving truck and welcome them back.

Last month I mentioned preaching to the Baptist Church in La Pradera, Tegucigalpa in a revival meeting.  We got word that the pastor’s wife is in the hospital and will need an operation soon.  Please pray for Sis. Daisy de Ríos.

You all have probably seen in the reports of the last several months that I have been unsettled as to where the Lord would have us work in His vineyard.  As a fully supported missionary by many of you, I understand that you need to know the workings of the Lord as He deals with us.  This is the 26th of May, and I’m writing this letter from my daughter’s home in Dothan, AL.   A few weeks ago, I received a letter from the Philadelphia Baptist Church in Decatur, AL inviting me to come and preach for them in view of a call to pastor their church.  Brother Doyle Thomas has been the pastor since 1997, but has resigned and is now serving as interim pastor.

Yesterday the 25th, after I preached to their assembly since Wednesday every night and twice on Sunday, the church voted unanimously to extend a call to me to be their pastor.  I desire your prayers that I may be led of the Holy Spirit to make the decision which is His and not mine.  I am willing to stay put in Honduras, if that is what the Lord wants.  I pray that He will guide me and lead me to do His will.  I know that many of you pastors have been in this same position, so you know what I’m talking about.

I beg of my dear brothers and sisters in Christ, that you will pray with us that we may know the will of the Lord and that He will give us grace to follow; that we would not look on the physical side of things, but trust in the Lord to follow wherever He leads.  I feel so weak and needy, but I know that my strength is in the Lord and that I must listen to His still small voice and obey without doubting.

We will be flying back to Honduras on Friday, May 30th.  Thanks so much for the way in which you have all supported this work in Honduras for so many years.  The fruit of your love for God, manifested to this Latin American country, will be paid back in eternal blessings in Christ Jesus.  These people thank you and I thank you.

Your brother by God’s grace, Ted Tweet
